You're right guys, I'm sorry. I was sort of joking too (the hashtag was supposed to make it funny), and then I got all real for some reason.

Exactly. Light-hearted smack to be expected. So no hard feelings. As for game smack, I usually don't talk smack unless I'm fairly confident we will win. I have several reasons to be optimistic, as do you guys, but this game is too even in my opinion. Add in the rain factor and who knows what will happen.

My worry about the rain though is less about the score as much as it is getting as many of you die hard Blazer fans in Troy. Troy will have around 20,000 of our own fans, if you bring just 10K the atmosphere will be off the charts.

Hopefully you'll get a mixture of 04-cheers and 05-mafia, just at different times of the day. Seriously though, I hope you guys come out and have a "large time" as my middle school band director used to say.

As for my goats, think less redneck and more Island of Dr. Moreau.

It will be the first time I have been to Troy in a while. Last time I was down there was for a UAB Basketball game under Davis, where we stomped them. I still have a funny picture of all the troy fans' pulling out there cell phone and taking video of demiveeman while he was dancing. I guess they had never seen dancing before in Troy.

Well I have driven through pretty regularly on the way to the beach, but rarely stop except occasionally for gas.

That game was a perfect storm again Troy. Their fans and band traveled with Troy to a football game (if I recall) and they had the middle school band playing. They kept playing songs that matched UAB cheers, and the masses of green completely owned their arena.

Death row wings before the game was also memorable.

Speaking of ownership, Grammar Nazi should pay taxes on the Troy student section. It was about 12 against one, but what a mighty one.

Yep it was like UAB had brought our own band and secretly replaced the high school sub band.

Those piccolos had dogs howling all over Pike County.

I remember telling myself, "I will not laugh at those children during the national anthem. I will not laugh at those children during the national anthem..."

I caught sight of Band Dad and he was clearly thinking the same thing, and just barely managed to keep it together.

Walgreens has some decent ponchos for around 8 bucks.

I purchased some from Walgreens when we headed to Disney & the Dollar Tree cheapos would have been a better fit there because you can chunk them after you use them.

For a game, Walgreens would be ok depending on the extent of the rain.

Dollar General has them for around 4 bucks as well I recall.

Troy played LSU in Baton Rouge later in the day. Troy was on the verge of a huge road win when everything fell apart in the 4th quarter. I still don't know how LSU came back to win that game.

Regarding the basketball game, I was there. It was great fun.

We caught the tail end of the UAB/Tulane game on the radio on the drive home. We commented, "What a great day to be a Blazer! A Trojan? Not so much."

Yep and we thought that Callaway had turned the corner with the team. Was that his first year?

Wal-Mart has some ponchos in the camping section for $0.88 and the package they come in is small enough to fit in your pocket. For that price, I'll use it once and throw it away.

What colors do they have?

The Dollar Tree ones will fit in your back pocket as well.

May want to get half a dozen anyway if you have other family members.

You could always bring one for the guy sitting next to you wearing green that didn't think ahead... Just don't buy the ones that are red.
