Paxton really benefitted from redshirt year. Two springs, two fall camps. Sees Paxton with ability to approach Wimprine's career numbers.
Receiving core best in some time. Coached really well. Incredible fundamentals. Good separation and getting 50/50 balls. Jones looks good. Clemson transfer (Craig) has legit speed. Can get behind secondary. May return punts.
Much more athletic competition all over the place.
Sleeper names: Marquis Warford (RB).
Back to Lynch. Will become a leader because he is good. Can get the ball to receivers.
Four returning O-line. Mixing and matching. Great coaches.
Talks about all staff returning. Testament to Fuente that these guys all wanted to come back. Some turned down other jobs to stay.
Team will be BETTER but it may not reflect in the w/l column due to increase in level of competition.
Five wins is reachable. Six wins would be an incredible season noting better level of competition.
Sincerely, thanks for the recap! All good stuff to hear.

Thanks for the recap. If Paxton approaches Wimprine numbers AND the Defense keeps improving we won't be finishing anywhere near last in the conference.

I am appreciative to hear news about the Tigers. Everything else in this thread is an incredible waste of energy.

In football, it's not like it is easy to convey crispness of route running or tackling angles in a practice. So much happens in a single play on both sides of the ball (and both sides of the field) that observations are hard to quantify.
If the ATL Journal-Constitution (the urinal-constipation , as we call it) can carry an article about UGA & GT every day this time of year, surely Stukenborg could find something to write about. It's his job after all.
You could write articles every day but generally to do that you need one or more of three factors in place. Star players, winning teams, unique stories. There is another reason.....scandles! All of those issues generate interest which demands the space. Get us back to winning seasons, star players, bowl games, a lot of NFL picks and the stories will flow. It is nice to have two coaches that make sure there are no scandles.

Honestly,
When is the last time any "die-hard" Memphis football fan can remember our entire football staff staying intact from one season to the next?? I can't.

great recap, with lots of good news. Sounds like Stukenborg places an optimistic spin on our upcoming season. That's good for season ticket sales, etc.

We've had some that took advanced positions or similar positions but with higher pay and/or prestige. I can't think of a year where we kept everyone. I am sure it has happened before but I don't think it has been recently.

Yep. Hell they had the CA trucked into New Orleans when we played in the bowl game there.

Nice article today about the o-line. Sounds like we got some guys switching positions because of injuries. We do seem to have a lot more depth than 2 seasons ago.
