My freshman year we actually had three a days. early am to around 1030. Walk home. 130 or so (I think, fuzzy memory) to 430. walk home. eat, clean up. 6 or so back for position stuff, walk through and some film on occasion. walk home. good times.

Dunk, you know it is inevitable that some young smartass is going to make a comment about walking 10 miles to school in the snow!

Locker room would get pretty ripe after a couple of weeks of nasty unis hanging. I lived 6 miles from the school and would bike to and from practices, often in the dark going home. Would usually try to wash and dry my uniform at home between practices. The good old days.

Yea.

It was everything I could do to not comment on your riding to and from home in the dark to get to practice. ha

When did you play? Was it under Purzycki?

No need to beat each other to death before the season starts.

JMU was doing 2 a days 04'-08'. Seemed to work then. Whatever has been doing the last few years hasn't seemed to work...

Ditto!
Damn it, I had to suffer through 2-a-days, so should they!

no no no. I was talking about HS. I was responding to BKWWC so thought that was apparent.

RE: Dukes Football Practice
Two a days are great for young players. The more time you spend getting reps and working on technique the better. 24 practices in two weeks gets you mentally and physically prepared for the first game. That's two film sessions , two treatments , two big meals , and good rest at night. Now if they would have just eliminated the full pad practices out of two a days, It would have been great work for young men. I think the elimination of two a day practices was a knee jerk reaction to the heat exhaustion deaths.

They still conduct two a days in CFL. And it's actually great for team bonding, I had some of my best practices during two a days.
