RE: #21 on USA today
Great to see indeed. This reminded me of something. People always say Toledo has the best recruiting classes, and I think they bring in a TON of talent on offense, but NIU is the class of the MAC for recruiting defense recently. I think we had another solid recruiting year on that side of the ball, finding NIU type 'Hard Way' guys. This defense will be a lot better than many anticipate, NIU has a lot of speed on that side of the ball .

Paul Myerberg is without question the most thorough of all the preseason writers.

Great review.

He probably wrote the story before any of us knew Jamison was not coming back.

The best and most thorough preview yet, and it makes me giddy that it also is the most optimistic.

Myerberg thinks we're real damn good.

+1. I have read nearly every one of his write ups. The best out there.

Great review.

He has Boise at number 9, hmm, now Im starting to wonder about our rating. There is no way Boise is the 9th best team in the country.

Right now they are not, but if they make it through their ballbuster of a schedule with road games at Wash U, BYU, SD ST, Fresno & UT ST plus a home game with AFA & Nevada unscathed they deserve #9. I think they lose 2 this year.
