The injuries on D at this early stage are a concern...Jones, Coleman & now Haden are out for who knows how long, and each of them would be on the field for a good number of plays even if they weren't starters. Gonna impact our depth at least a bit I would think.

Surprised with that. I thought he would need some time to get his upper body strength to be more proportionate with his lower body strength. Maybe being in a D-I weight room has paid off early. Saw him wrestle several times in HS and you could see his athleticism. My only concern was that he might have a tendency to pack on unnecessary weight. He also looked to have tremendous upside.

Mark Meyers comments that Treyvon Hester could also earn a starting spot. STORY

Did anybody else happen to notice that we have another player from MD on the roster--Kyle Levere? Probably a walk-on trying to make the roster, but he played in the Big 33 and was pretty well respected in MD. I thought I saw him make a catch and I nice run. Looks like he's pretty fast.

I like the comment of playing 22 guys on defense this year with more depth so guys don't wear down like they did last year. Hopefully this pays off.

If we have 22 guys smart enough to play at this level. That's a lot of depth with as much as we graduated, isn't it?

We know how long Haden is out for - 4 weeks. 2 wks in preseason, 4 wks in season. Does it hurt? Yes. But It's not like he's goign to miss significant time.
