You could hold your breath until your stadium gets up to Dix size. I'd watch that!

Really? Would've never known...

OU is that riding high on their success and it shows in their attendance. I congratulate them for being able to do that, it reflects well on to the MAC when there's plenty of butts in the seats. Are these numbers impressive for the MAC? Sure, but it's not like they're shattering conference records. Consider this: a record 25,893 people went to Peden last year to see the Bobcats play NMSU. Want to know Miami's average attendance in 2003? Approximately 25,132.

There has to be a line about where Dix/Peden but it isn't coming to me just yet.

RE: OHIO FB: Sold out for the season?
Marshall has expanded its stadium to 38,000 (27,000 vs Miami Saturday night). Both Marshall and Ohio are somewhat isolated, thus not overshadowed by neighbors, so more able to build a big fanbase when they can sustain a successful run. Plus OU has greatly increased enrollment, so if they can maintain a good run they could possibly continue to build their fanbase. It will take continued success and improvement, however.

I'm also baffled that someone thinks that one school selling 20,000 tickets to a college football game is a topic worth bragging about. It is such a minimal accomplishment in today's college football world, and one that happens every week pretty much in this conference by a couple of teams. Seems like a topic for a team board that may interest that team's fans. The conference averages about 16-17k. 20k is not that big a deal. This is the MAC. Our winning teams almost always avg. around 20k.

We aren't selling 20k to this game.....we are looking to sell 26,000 like we did last year for the home opener against New Mexico State.

BTW, we are looking to push our numbers eventually much higher than even that...

03-shhhh

Please stop talking.

RE: OHIO FB: Sold out for the season?
Quote:Ohio will receive a boost from playing in front of what's expected to be a raucous crowd at Peden Stadium for the first time in 2013. Ohio associate athletic director Dan Hauser reported Tuesday that only 800 tickets remain for the contest. Coach Solich is looking forward to the benefits that having such a strong contingent can bring.

"There is a home crowd advantage. There is no home crowd advantage if you don't have a crowd," he said. "It's gotten to the point where it is a major help."

The 'Cats and Mean Green will do battle Saturday at Peden Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

A coach complimenting a crowd and saying they're an advantage for the program? Why haven't any of the other coaches figured this out? Damn Frank's been holding out on all of these secrets and letting them out one at a time. I wonder if the next one is going to be "the team with the most points wins"?

I agree. The intense crowd was clearly the difference in your most recent home game. http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxs...-ohio.html

RE: OHIO FB: Sold out for the season?
Ohio's on tonight against North Texas...21-7 so far in the second quarter. Ohio looks like its usual self tonight when playing lower tier CUSA, MAC or SBC foes.

Ohio Tackling looks very crisp tonight.

Checking through the online ticket office, only 122 season tickets are available as of the first game day. The program is getting very close to a season ticket sellout.
