UAB is playing them this year.

Just some clarification. WKU has a community college in it's system. This is true for numerous universities across the nation. Community colleges provide a vital resource for non-traditional students who need the flexible schedule a community college affords, people who can't afford the full-fledged university experience, people who need to "brush up" on certain academic areas before attempting the more rigorous university coursework, and for those who merely want a specialized certification or associates degree. To somehow denigrate WKU because it has a community college in it's system is a bit childish considering that this is a common practice in many states. WKU has a community college because the state's system of community colleges (which all used to be part of the University of Kentucky) does not have a nearby community college for Bowling Green area residents. The closest other community college is more than an hour drive from Bowling Green. MTSU has many students who received their general education at nearby community colleges, such as Motlow State Community College in Smyrna, TN (about 10-15 miles from Murfreesboro and in the same county). The fact that that community college is not part of MTSU should not matter.

In fact, I champion WKU's effort to provide this vital resource for thousands of area residents who have no other options. Most do not go on to attend WKU, although some do. Most however do receive an associates degree or specialized certification in a vocational field. To somehow demean this is truly an elitist and ignorant approach to an argument.

MUTS and SMUT is a not so creative rearranging letters. Trying to make fun of a school because it is a system school wth an open enrollment policy? That is just pathetic.

I think they're both pretty equally stupid personally...

I think Vandy is a better team than in years past but I also think that the SEC is down right now. It would still be a nice win...hell, it would be an especially nice win because their fans would be expecting to beat us down. I love disappointing their fans...the pricks.

Don't ask the question if you're just going to later cry about thread derailment.

That said, I've never heard of a Division I institution with a community college directly linked to the university on its campus.

And if you don't expect your conference mates to razz you about that particularly your rival then I don't know what to tell you. BTW, you can thank ToppersonTop for bringing your CC to our attention.

Dude, we had no idea. And you have done an outstanding job keeping that a secret until your best and brightest opened his big ass mouth (or fingers as it were).

Actually it's not on WKU's main campus. Those classes are on a campus in the southern end of Bowling Green off Nashville Road.

I didn't say main campus. It is on a Western campus or not?

BTW, why aren't you guys funneling more high end recruits that can't get eligible through that thing? Hell, Troy does it and they don't even have their own CC. Could you imagine if Blakeney had his own community college?

I don't think there is football in KY's CC system. Although could you imagine the jokes if there were actually a juco team playing in BG? Excuse me, I meant another JUCO team playing in BG 05-stirthepot

A legitimate discussion about football gets derailed into insults of
WKU by a couple of MT fans.
And in other breaking news, the sun rose in the east this morning.

Good point. I guess it would be hard to talk a kid into not playing for a year.

RE: WKU-Vandy 3 year football series
a quick google search shows utep, utah state, chaminade, wyoming, west virginia, maryland, auburn, montana, toledo, south dakota state, south al, arizona state, oregon state, st bonnie, oklahoma, utah, utsa are all open enrollment schools with a higher acceptance rate than wku (90%)...so now who looks like a complete dumb***. wku is a system school. we now operate on 6 campus throughout west, south, and central KY...system schools generally operate community colleges.

Vandy doesn't have the drawing power most of the SEC schools have and can't afford to pay over 1 million a year for buy games so they need to play series like this. Congrats to WKU this is a great series and hopefully you can win a game or 2, especially the home game.
