RE: Tigers pick up another DL transfer
Some of TW's were as well, people still complained. People are going to agree or complain based on their outlook or agenda.

I would love to have men on the team that 100% of the aggression is released once they put the helmet on. Apart from that, I hope they are classy, intelligent, well behaved and positive representatives of the U of M!! On the field, hope they play with great sportsmanship and destroy (not using the tops of their helmets or targeting players as according to NCAA guidelines) everyone on the field.

No problem with me being Transfer U.

I seem to recall TW getting blasted for relying heavily on transfers.

Situations are not comparable. The program under TW was on the way down and he started taking transfers from everywhere to try and stop the bleeding.

To be honest with you i don't like one year players i just don't. But kids like suttles that will have four years to play Im all for. That's a no brainer. What most people didnt like about how tommy took transfers was it was apparent that tommy wasn't recruiting and was content with transfers and jucos.

Big difference here:
1) DT Rome and DE Suttles have multiple years to play. 2 and 4 respectively.
2) Both are coming from a BCS Program and were major contributors

Did Rome graduate? Think he's already redshirted a year, so next year may be his last.

Paster has taken transfers and got some flak but when it has worked out the flak subsided.

if it works, you won't hear anything about this. If it doesn't, you will.

I have nothing against taking transfers like this. You will see your recruiting ranking go down because they are not counting in your class total points. I just have in the past and always will call out those who are two faced and praise one coach for doing something they bashed another coach who did the same thing. Programs on the level of the Tigers must do transfers if they want to pick up the top quality players. Just like going the juco route you must find quality talent any where you can and if it means having them for only a couple years so be it. When you are short players because a former coach ran a bunch of them off or some transferred out when the coach who recruited them left. Then you must do what ever you can to replace numbers. Especially if they are the level of players you normally could not get out of high school. Just want people to be honest and not change their position on the practice based on who is doing it.

TW got blasted because he didn't win with his transfers.

Neither did Porter but he was never blasted for taking transfers.

Nice to have him.
I've made a few mistakes in my half a century or so on earth, so a second chance I fully understand.

Nah - they had already taken two DL transfers - from Wisconsin and Virginia.

It seems like with their OL depth so low they may be hoping DL transfers can move across the line. After three seasons as a tomato can they are scrambling for horses.
