Did anyone watch the game last night? I want to know how Joe looked.

I watched very little of the game.

Cassel did a lot better than Ponder, I guess.

Vikings fans who are Ponder sunshine pumpers aren't going to like that.

Are there any of those?

Just so we don't let facts get in the way, Ponder played one series and had an interception. Cassell played many more series and had 200 yards with a touchdown and an interception. I would say it's impossible to compare a guy who threw 2 passes to a guy who threw 20 passes.

+1 to that & it's the first preseason game, where the starters only play a series or 2, then the subs play for evaluation. About the 3rd game, if Ponder isn't doing well & Cassel is, then who holds the clipboard may switch. I assume they brought Cassel in to put a fire under Ponder & if it works, he lives up to his draft status, if not then they move on & maybe draft someone else next year. As much as management hates to admit it, not all 1st rounders live up to it.

Ponder did look athletic.

Nope. I think I heard recently that approximately 50% of first rounders work out.

By the time the last preseason game gets around, Cassel probably will have earned the starting position.

I think next week that they plan on playing Ponder for 1 quarter or 2 interceptions, whichever comes first.

According to the box score, Joe was targeted 3 times for 2 catches and 11 yards.

They did draft a few WR's who probably will see playing time over Joe.

It truly sucks too. At least he is still getting the paycheck.

I'd always been indifferent to the Vikings, and started paying attention to them when they drafted Joe.

Now, I'm beginning to actively dislike them. They suck, because they deserve to. Not just in how they've handled Joe, but pretty much all of their personnel moves since they drafted him.

If anyone is awake, the game is re-airing on the NFL Network right now.
