the rules dont apply to them. That is some bush league crap by GTS by the way. Wonder if either of those guys ever contributed to the "the server needs replacing" fund raisers?

I know one has. And posting this information is an extreme breech of privacy. Owning and operating a message board does not give you the authority to expose identity of anonymous posters, especially in a punitive manner.

Threatening someone's job and going to their employer (essentially trying to get them fired) is taking things too far. I know the mods work hard and have to deal with a fair share of idiots but they should stick with moderating the board...not targeting peoples employers. If legal action needs to be taken then go for it...in a private manner. I thought 'outing' someone was severely against the rules? So, why is there a sticky with someone's private information posted for all to see? Couldn't the same message be conveyed privately?

I don't get it. So, rules for some but not for all?

this same guy posted my picture and info once while I was banned because he did not realize the search feature showed the secret MOD board where they they dicuss all the MOD inner workings. I caught them telling blatant lies and admitting to those lies and posted them on another message board. hurt his little feelings.

Dayum, maybe you should post a thread about it in the main forum. Sounds like he got mad and is now threatening to take his ball and go home.

RE: oh my
I banned over 50 proxy services, 20 entire datacenters, and more. They thought it was some cute game and I wasn't on to them. In reality I was busy working on other projects, but I had to drop everything I was doing to deal with two children who don't care about other people's property and businesses. It was a drain on my time and resources. I don't come to your place of employment, take a crap on the floor, get plastic surgery, come back the next day, and do it again over and over and over and over.

I have rights too -- especially to run my private business as I see fit free from those see fit only to abuse it.

They both got precisely what was coming to them, and the changes to the AUP were made after consulting with the Skunkworks Legal Team. (What, with this many Rice fans on here you think I don't have some volunteer lawyer help?!)

TL;DR: TROLLS ... BOOOOOOOM OUTTA HERE

you do have your rights indeed and I'm not disputing that. Just seems that taking the issue to an employer is a step that could really jeopardize someone's livelihood. I understand you guys have the right to moderate as you see fit for the good of the board (and I can appreciate that) but these issues could be handled in private IMO. I've only been here since 2008 and rarely post but I'd hate to know someone got in trouble at work over MTO. I'm not trying to bash or flame anyone but it seems what is good for the goose is not good for the gander here.

On a side note: glad to see Boom Outta Here is still an acceptable phrase.
_Also, glad the sticky has been removed. I know it's easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment (and no doubt this issue has caused you unnecessary workload) and do things not normally done...so kudos for taking it down. With the increased traffic over the last few years I'm sure the is more mod work than ever. Like I said, if legal action is necessary the so be it...I just don't think everyone on the board needs to know about it.

Funny how a person who once donated money and even "tailgated" with several of our "good posters" on here got thrown under the bus like that. I guess somebody out bid him.

Yep ... got a fat check from kpig for $1,200,000 to ban him. You got it down precisely.

It would cost me thousands of dollars to get them to stop legally. It cost me nothing to call their employer.

The announcement was put up because, while I did email them both, I didn't know if the email I suspected was the valid one was indeed valid. Both have since responded to said email.
