UT routed the Greek All-Stars 92-51. Freshman Jonathan Williams and junior Justin Drummond led the Rockets in scoring with 17 points a piece.

Is Josh Lemons registering anything in the box score in these games. He might have been our defensive stopper last year, but he never looked to take a shot last year. It was like 4-5 every time he was in the game.

So if these guys are the "Greek All Stars," are they the best that Greece has to offer?

We haven't been provided with a box for either contest, but Lemons had nine points in the first game.

I watched a number of open gym sessions as well as some of the practices in preparation for the present Greece trip and it appears as if Lemons has improved his offensive game considerably in the off season.

Josh would improve his offensive stats by simply looking at the bucket. Shooting was not at the top of his list.

Kind of like our point guard a few years ago who logged 38 min a game, but had zero's accross the box score.

Josh looks like an athlete, but did he forget how to put the ball in the bucket between 12th grade and college?

It does not appear Greece will be the test needed and unless these teams they are playing are way better than it appears these games will not be an indicator of future success even though I am very hopeful and it does look better than last year.

No, not by a long shot. The first 2 games were against a couple teams of local Athens players who may or may not have played together before. The third game coming up is against an actual team, but it's from the 3rd division in Greece, so again, not the best. The last game will be against a French team.

Basketball is big sport in Greece and they have often fielded teams that played very well in the Olympics or world championships. UT is not playing against those players.

exercise

I think it is a cultural experience, and a team building exercise. It is not so much about playing tough competition.

All Star teams usually mean the players on the other team have played basketball at some level at least once in their lives. That may not have been the case in that first game.
