Anywhere but memorial at vandy...that is a terrible place to watch a basketball game. Also, do you really want the cusa tourney to have the crazy benches at the ends of the floor?

Nashville and Bridgestone make a lot of sense. It's one of the better central locations. I like it.

The Clown College's facility would be worse.

It would only be successful if USM was having a good season.

So, just what does that mean exactly? The fans wouldn't come because it's in Mississippi? Probably wouldn't do worse than some C-USA locations. The MS Coast is a great place to play & it has been the tourney site in the past.

My guess (judging by the walk you seem to be talking down to my state) is that you've never been to this area.

Though geographically, Nashville makes more sense. However, if it were a rotation, CUSA would be wise to include the MS Gulf Coast.

Nashville on the even years and rotate on the odd years with San Antonio, Mississippi coast, Charlotte & Birmingham. Move the headquarters to NYC across the street from Fox headquarters (lot flights in and plenty of hotels & entertainment)

Hobnob with Fox Sports every day and provide coffee & doughnuts. That way CUSA executives can stay in front of the cameras and promote the conference.

I don't think it is way better than El Paso from a support perspective. Even if UTEP don't play in the finals or semi's, many people would still attend the tourney because it is basically the only thing going on in the city at that time.

From a logistical perspective, Dallas or Houston would be better but I would opt for San Antonio for the Western Division programs. Again, the Spurs are the only haps in town and S.A. is definitely a basketball town.

I hope u r joking about sa being a bbtown. For sure an nba town but college ball not so much. I went to a utsa game and there was maybe 1500 people at a mens game. The women had about 20 so I'm not sure. Utsa ad does a great getting exposure and is really good at her job. But until utsa does something to bring spotlight on the college scene its iffy. We will see about your ncaa turnout this year.

Figured you would be lobbying for a neutral site like.....Memphis?

You always bring it back to Memphis...always.

Put it at the MS Coast Coliseum...great location with nearby beaches and casinos...10,000 seat arena...let USM host.

No, Drew. She started the Memphs crap again yesterday when I was just minding my own business.

Well if it is an NBA town that would make it a basketball town. I believe once UTSA improves on the court and get some really good teams to play there the interest in college basketball will increase.

UTEP sold more all session tickets for the tournament than most of the schools in Cusa average, it makes sense to have it in El Paso.

Works for me...Nashville is only 2 and a half hours away from where I live...I like it, since Birmingham's not going to step up and bid for it yet...

I think Norfolk/Virginia Beach is an underrated selection

If it's in Nashville, every team's fans in CUSA can drive there reasonably, except UTEP's. If it's in El Paso, no team's fans can drive there reasonably, except UTEP's.

UTSA basketball will never compare to the Spurs. Even me, I love my school but my Spurs take priority in basketball. With that said we played in the Southland Conference for the majority of our history. I do think with winning and more attractive opponents (now that we're in C-USA) the city could get behind college basketball.

Nashville is a great city. With the Blue Raiders' strong hoops program right now along with a historic quality team just up I-65, Nashville is a natural. Especially when you consider that UAB is only 200 miles or so, and I expect that Haase will have them back to an at-large bid program if he recruits like it appears he will.

A different arena, but the OVC always looks like a lot of fun on TV.

But you're also right about The 757. It is state of the art, but at 8,800 or so capacity, The Ted Constant Convocation Center might be a bit smaller than you'd like. Due to amenities and convenience, I prefer conference tournaments which are neutral and not on-campus (though the Richmond Coliseum is very aged, it was a great great location for the CAA tournament ... a casualty of realignment, sigh), but the location of The Ted is not buried in the middle of it. There are some surrounding restaurants and very adequate parking.

The downtown arena, Norfolk Scope, was renovated not too longer ago. But the MEAC tournament has a four or five year contract I believe.

I had a great time when the Metro was in Biloxi. That is an underrated idea.

I like the idea of some type of rotation consisting of Charlotte/Norfolk, Nashville/El Paso.

Would also like to see a "Basketball Challenge" tournament between the MWC and CUSA.

3.5 from Birmingham
6.5 from Charlotte
8-9 hours from Marshall (Other than I-40 through Arkansas, this is the worst drive I've ever been on)
45-70 minutes from WKU depending on North Nashville traffic (If you've driven this, you know what I'm talking about).
It would bring fans, and Nashville loves its' visitors. Hell I'd love it here, not a fan of any of the teams but I love tournament basketball, would C-USA be willing to move it to the first weekend of tournaments? Running it and the OVC together would be a fun weekend, C-USA and the SEC tourney would be too, but it would be a shared venue at that point and Nashville has the SEC men's tourney in 15, 16, and 19 with the idea that after 19 it stays in Nashville permanently. Kentucky fans love traveling here and spending their welfare checks.

Driving from Huntington to Nashville is about 5 1/2 hours.
