To that list, I'd add Tahj Boyd, Teddy Bridgewater, and Braxton Miller, and if I was going to put only one Oregon player on the list, it would be Marcus Mariota instead of De'Anthony Thomas, though Thomas is the more likely NFL prospect.

If the Cards don't lose any games, he could win it. Right now, TB is certainly the popular flavor of the day with the media. But the hype machine is notoriously fickle and it could decide upon a new popular flavor by season's end, even if Bridgewater continues winning all his games. We shall see how it all plays out shortly...

Actually I'm just listing players that have a real shot at winning it. The obvious ones are not going to win it, they haven't for a long time now. That's why I think someone other than the usual names is going to win it.

If I'm right, pretty sure the most hyped candidates are:
1. Braxton Miller
2. Johnny Manziel
3. Taj Boyd
4. Teddy Bridgewater
5. Jadeveon Clowney
6. Aaron Murray
7. Todd Gurley
8. TJ Yeldon
9. AJ McCarron
10. Marquis Lee

So I erased the ones I know aren't going to win it, and then added some guys to the list that will rise to the occasion. And viola, I had my list of 9 plus the other option.
