I think it depends on what kind of deal Texas cuts. If Texas goes B1G, I think OU follows them. If Texas goes Indy with an ND type agreement with the ACC, OU might still go to the B1G with Kansas, or with OSU to the SEC. I've commented before that the SEC would be my preference, because the SEC is on the rise while the B1G is still prospering on past successes. No offense intended, but the B1G schools and fanbases don't impress me much.

Last thought is I think OU fans would like the SEC more than the school's leadership, so I'd give the B1G the edge. Hope that helps. Probably didn't tell you anything you hadn't already figured out yourself.

They usually do, at least with most things but realignment is a fickle mistress. It could go sideways pretty quick.

OU and OSU would be an awesome addition to the SEC. Aside from the academics issues the leaders have, Oklahoma has, IMHO, more in common with the SEC schools. Can you imagine the games?04-cheers

Yeah I agree that OU/OSU are SEC type schools, and the games would be pretty awesome. Plus living in Fla, I'd get more chances each year to watch the Sooners. Hell I might even root for the Cowboys a few times (Think I just threw up in my mouth a little 03-puke). LOL

When will Texas learn the Big 12 is where they need to stay. The Big 12 is a great conference and I simply don't understand why some would like to see its demise.

We had a great bottle of Riesling. Truly an enjoyable time. Anyways, he gave me a scoop about the B1G. It definitely is going to expand in the near future. The 15th school is going to be Kansas - it's a slam dunk - but the 16th school gets rather interesting. UCONN was originally going to get the nod; however, a very unexpected thing happened. PSU blackballed them! Their AD Joyner advised that PSU wants to see itself as the preeminent eastern university from an athletic POV. Their fear was that UCONN is so good in most of their current athletics - especially in girls BB - that PSU felt in time that UCONN would eclipse them and start siphoning off their recruits. PSU felt like their hands were tied and this is the best they could do.

As a compromise school, the B1G is now looking at Oklahoma. Texas would have been a clear first choice except for the fact that the ACC was in secret negotiations with them for awhile and that UT and ND are going to join the ACC as full time members. Amazingly, both Texas and OU will be able to break away from the Big12 without any repercussions nor with any baggage. Not sure how they did it, and I'll find out more about that later. Basically, the Big12 GOR was not as strong as originally thought.

I also found out a little later that Joyner was being a little loose lipped bragging about what PSU did to UCONN. Also, Joyner confided with a big booster that FoxSports told the B1G who to take for their 16th school.

Stay tuned guys. More to follow as soon as I get more info!

You're welcome.
Aside from the obviously expected world trip news, this is similar to one of the popular theories of upcoming realignment on this board. OU/KU to the B1G and UT to the ACC, at least as some kind of alliance. His real earth shaking tips always come in Japan though, so I am suspect of a European trip.

Not all realignment is earth shattering. But unlike some of these "bloggers" who are merely throwing sh!t at the wall, I provide the true details and nuances. I clearly shared the UCONN angle that the unwashed masses had no clue about. Because of my painstaking lookout for the true insider news, I secured these juicy scoops for your edification.

You're welcome.

Actually the whole Texas to the ACC and OU/KU to the Big Ten comes from me. I am not a blogger but then again, you don't have sources so it's all good! 07-coffee3

Yes, the Big12 should survive this. Do not expect any merger between the Big12 and the AAC though. The last time those thoughts were floated out there were because Marinatto salivated over KU BB. With KU and the BE BB schools gone, it won't happen. Plus the Big12 thinks it can still pull from the AAC if it wanted to without having to deal with a merger.

With the Big12 sitting at 7 schools, they will need to add 3 to at least get back to 10. My sources tell me that the odds of them going to 12 are slim, but it's possible. Here are the most likely outcomes for 10 or 12 schools:

If it's a simple replenishment to get back to 10, then expect to see Cincy, USF and UCF get the nod. However, if the goal is to get to 12, then it will be those 3 plus New Mexico and UNLV.

Some of you may be asking...you mean they won't even consider UCONN!?!? Well, there are 2 reasons why they won't be considered for the Big12 expansion. First, they are too far away. Second, word is that Gene DeFilippo will be brought in as a consultant for the Big12 expansion/reload efforts. Word is that he doesn't like UCONN...

BC is terrified of having UConn 90 miles away in the same conference. And now Penn State doesn't want us in the B1G because we're a threat? 03-banghead

The AAC will be fun, but I'm tired of UConn having doors slammed shut in our face because we're competent & competitive.

You think Syracuse, BC and Pitt is blackballing Uconn because they are afraid of your athletic prowess? Then why did they all vote to invite Louisville, whos athletic department blows Uconn away? These are the same schools that voted for your fb to get into the BE in the first place.

You think Penn State is worried about Uconn football? PENN STATE?

If Uconn was as great and powerful and intimidating as you think it is, someone would have given you a call by now. You think SU, Pitt, BC and Penn State has influence with the Big 12 and the SEC? Whos blackballing you from those leagues?

Its unfortunate that Uconn got left behind, but you guys really need to stop blaming everyone else for your woes to make yourselves feel better. Its really embarrassing to constantly read this kind of stuff from you guys.

Do you not realize Syracuse and BC have both been reported as doing exactly that? These aren't made up rationalizations coming from UConn fans; these are angry opinions based on reports from people who get paid to do so. I could give two hoots whether you find our fanbase embarassing. We are pissed off and are going to continue to be until we are in a conference.

Like I've said about the ACC: BC, Syracuse, and Pitt want nothing to do with UConn because our athletic department knows how to field quality teams (men's BB, women's BB, soccer, baseball, FB ... although FB is still young and growing).

But your guys are already in a great conference that should have solid BB moving forward plus exciting FB that I'm sure some people would want to watch.

That is trolling at its finest right there.
