brista21 Wrote:That sounds like a much better matchup to me than Buffalo. Ohio has a far better program. Would love to see you guys in Piscataway this year.

Ohio was a young team last year with practically all its statistical leaders from last year returning on both sides of the ball.

The QB position has been augmented with the addition of Brad Bower from Illinios who had a couple successful starts in Big Ten play. This is in addition to the top 3 QB's from last year returning.

Solich had a fast start in 2005 by beating Pittsburgh, but then the team looked kind of lost down the stretch in MAC play. He is more familiar with the MAC this year, and the players have now spent another year in the Nebraska style weight program.

Most publications are going to have us slated for a winning season in 2006 so it should be a very good matchup against Rutgers if it comes to fruition.

Maybe even an ESPN game.....

Re: Ohio at Rutgers?
CMU dropped Illinois for Boston College, Ohio take that spot.

I think that Solich knows what he's doing with the schedule. Missouri, Illinois and Rutgers are not Va Tech and the Pitt and Kentucky games the last two years proved that bottom BCS teams are bad and can be beaten. If Solich gets 1 of those three games beats UT Matin and a 6-2 MAC record, perhaps Solich at 8-4 gets a bowl bid. I understand Va Tech was a home game, but we had zero chance at Tech, we can play with Rutgers, Missouri, and Illinois.

It's definitely a better contest than one against Buffalo. It probably increased your RPI by 5-10 points.

Yes. Its official Ohio at Rutgers. A step up for us too. We get a BCS team instead of a road games vs a Sunbelt team. This worked out better for Ohio and Rutgers.
