I guess you would prefer they live in a cardboard box under a bridge. That is the compassionate conservative for you!

Nope, not at all. Nice trollin' attempt though.

I would expect them to work for a while and then move on and not demand crazy salaries for flipping burgers.
Where would they move?

Seems that depends on past choices they have made.

Arrest record. When the rap sheet is 14 pages as yours is, well, it speaks for itself.

My rap sheet? I have no rap sheet. Sorry to burst your bubble. What does arrest record have anything to do with it anyway? Hell I know there is at least one person on here that has a bigger rap sheet than I do and he has a decent job.

But sometimes(actually, probably often) they aren't choices.

These people exist do you just want to turn them out into the streets without healthcare shelter or food. hey made some bad choices but we are a society and that is the agreement. I can't begrudge a poor person when I have been so blessed by the Lord in my life through a combination of hard work and seeming serendipity. I am sitting as we speak in the 11th most dangerous zip code in the country, across the street from the largest public housing project in Memphis. I don't want to trade places with them just for $131.00 a month in food stamps and free sub standard rent. I LIKE WORKING and most people of sound mind do.

I agree...NAFTA ring any bells?

I would not blame it all on NAFTA..but..it was a contributing factor. We should have been proactive decades ago with our tax structure. We should have done everything possible to make industry profitable and keep those jobs in the USA.

Even to the deregulation of the Reagan era. (I voted for him twice)

A "solid" economy? Is that what this is?

Folks shouldn't be working for 7.25 an hour with no benefits.

And Hobby Lobby is the one that basically said if their lawsuit against Obamacare was thrown out, they were firing people from all levels, cause at their higher starting rates, they came out and admitted, they simply can't afford it with their business model.

That's because they're having some bible thumping temper tantrum over employees having access to the morning after pill...It's the law...they should follow it.

The Supreme Court does not agree with you...and Hooby Lobby is not a church...it's a corporation.

I have no problem whith someone who says "I'm a Christian, so I choose not to have an abortion"

I have a big problem with someone who says "I'm a Christian so you can't have an abortion since you work for me"
