Tiger Scholarship Fund Members,

I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying the beautiful summer weather here in the Mid-South. It’s hard to believe August is upon us and that means we’re less than 40 days from kicking off the 2013 Memphis Tigers football season!

As we draw closer to September 7th the buzz and anticipation around campus and our city continues to build. The Tigers enter the 2013 campaign riding a 3 game winning streak and are eager to accept new challenges as a member of the American Athletic Conference.

Additionally, we’re excited to introduce several new initiatives that we believe will enhance the Game Day experience for our fans and help create a championship environment for our players. This year TSF is partnering with the Alumni Association to host a dynamic tailgate party prior to each home game. The tailgate party will include all the amenities of a traditional TSF tailgate (including a large tent, food and beverages) but will now be located in the heart of Tiger Lane.


The athletic department is making a concerted effort to increase activity on Tiger Lane as well as attendance at the Tiger Walk. New and improved aspects will include a stage and live music prior to each game, inflatables and interactive games for kids a families, a pep rally with the band and spirit squads around the fountain, and a new emphasis on greeting the team in mass as they depart from the bus and descend upon the stadium for the Tiger Walk. We believe that your attendance and participation at these events are critical to their growth and success. Your support of these initiatives will help us build a tradition on Tiger Lane we all can be proud of.


Access privileges to the TSF tailgate will not change from last year. You should receive your TSF tailgate tickets in the mail in the next two weeks. Should you have any questions feel free to contact a member of our staff. Again, we appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you on Tiger Lane.

The TSF tailgate tent will be accessible to donors in what amount? I am very pleased that it will be in the center of Tiger Lane now.

I hope the particular location of the live music stage and band will be made crystal clear, as it varied from time to time last year.

All of the detailed activities on Tiger Lane have been in place for years, there is nothing new, but I am pleased more emphasis will be placed on them, esp. the Tiger Walk. I wish nearly everyone on Tiger Lane would leave their tents and actually come to the Tiger Walk. It doesn't even take 20 minutes.

I am curious as to precisely how these events will be publicized more and people will be encouraged to participate. We have always gotten a lot of lip service every year.

But I applaud any effort in this direction.

Will they have one of those velcro wall inflatables? If so, I'm totally there.

and they did such a fabulous job celebrating the centinnial year of tiger football last season...

I have had more communication with the athletic department in the last 6 months than I had with the last administration in 20 years. They seem to be focused on getting rid of some of the things (and people) holding the program back. The AD seems to have a plan and isn't worried about stepping on a few toes to reach his goal. The AD is holding everyone that works for him accountable.

once again, i didnt get any tsf email or mailings. ive called them at least 6 times in the past, they confirm they have my email correctly, the emails start showing up again and then they dont. i've only been a tsf donor since day one - over 40 years ago now i guess.

its a good thing im stubborn.

Don't feel bad...same thing happens to me with Rebounders news...I get nothing...on the list, e-mail correct...doesn't go to spam, just don't get anything...weird.

Don't feel bad...same thing happens to me with Rebounders news...I get nothing...on the list, e-mail correct...doesn't go to spam, just don't get anything...weird.

i do get fabulous auction opportunity emails almost daily from them though

i see another commercial appeal sports front page season ticket ad and football story for mississippi today. for us - nada. 35 days left.

Mississippi is coming off of a bowl season and has a nationally ranked recruiting class coming in......that's news.
