I haven't been over here since our Texas Bowl times ... and since I thought the wide-ranging banter during that time was fun and similar to that which we have on our Rice Parliament, I thought I'd share this news story from the national lab where I work (SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory near Stanford, Calif.) ... research that was led by a pioneering Western Michigan scientist: http://www6.slac.stanford.edu/news/New-T...ulses.aspx

It's definitely far-out, cutting-edge scientific work -- splitting high-power, femtosecond-long X-ray-laser pulses, then delaying on a bit before directing it to the same spot as the first part of the pulse. But Bronco fans should be plenty proud of the great work that your scientists like Brendan Murphy and Nora Berrah are doing. WTG, Broncos!

Hope y'all have a great season, in athletics and academics.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing - I agree, extremely classy and much appreciated.

WMU is no slouch when it comes to academics, contrary to what some people (not on this board necessarily) like to spout.
