Driving down to Duck yesterday, I passed a truck with ODU plates that said TEDHEAD. I always wondered if that is one of us out there.

Who has personalized plates?

I do and it says OHDEEU. You can usually see them driving around on the peninsula.

I've known the owner of that vehicle for about 10+ years. This person is an occasional poster on Monarch Nation but not as TEDHEAD and to the best of my knowledge is not registered here. Speaking of vanity plates, anyone here own the ODU DAD plate and is willing to give it up? lol

Although I enjoy my anonymity, this thread may push me to order ODUR8R.

Also I've seen some of your screw names on plates while driving around Virginia Beach

I have ODU BLTZ. Use to have DABIGBLU have fun with it.

I just reserved an ODU specialty plate with "AGIES" for the plate number. I will have it on the car before we go to Greenville.

I have had these for a few years. I really wish DMV and ODU would put out a plate with the shield logo and put the chef hat out to pasture.

Like the new ride Clay. Agree with DMV adding the shield or loin.

When ODU announced it was getting a football program, I proudly got an ODU plate - KIKOFF. As in "let's kick off this program".

Some accuse it of being some sort of obscenity. Makes me scratch my head.

We have one vehicle with ODU plates that say OODDUU. Used to have REP ODU, but no one seemed to get it.

My views on vanity plates: Unless it's a REALLY good one (meaning it makes sense, it is easily understood, it isn't butchered or overshortened), they are unnecessary. I think a lot of people get them because they think they're cool. I do not share in the opinion that they are cool, haha.

And when people get vanity plates that tell you what car they're driving, it drives me CRAZY. WE GET IT. YOUR CAR ALREADY SAYS HONDA ON IT 8 TIMES...I DON'T NEED YOUR LICENSE PLATE TO REMIND ME. AND YOU DON'T NEED TO PAY THE EXTRA MONEY TO THE DMV EITHER.

If you want to show your support and fanship with ODU then go to the bookstore or online and buy something there to put on your car. That way ODU gets the benefit of your money and NOT the Commonwealth of Virginia.

You must not be from VA. Interestingly VA has the highest participation rate in the vanity plate arena.
