It looks like right now we have a version of Woodson somewhere in between his 2012 and 2013 weight, and when the season starts he will weigh even less; and you would assume; will be in decent physical condition.
When we signed Woodson, I was hoping for a Niles type player and numbers (17.8 minutes, 5.2 points, 5.2 rebounds) with better free throw shooting and a good attitude. I am now hoping that we can get Shaq type numbers (7.7/4/4) out of him. If this happens, we are going to have a very good team.
Wow...I didn't remember Pierre having those types of numbers...
That would make Pierre the best rebounding big man we have had since Josh has been here...That is crazy when you think about it...Hopefully one of the new guys steps it up.
Coleman averaged 6.2 rpg the same year.

IMO, Niles was a sad case his senior season. You can criticize him for being 50 pounds overweight most of his career, but you also have to give him credit for losing all that weight. Niles was so used to riding the bench, that he got really jittery in games. If he was more relaxed, I think he would have done really well; He had really good form and very good footwork.
In the end, his attitude killed him. Once the 2005 class left; there was nobody left to show him the way. When Sallie and Spoon are your veteran role models; it isn't hard to see how someone could veer from the straight and narrow.

Niles was an idiot and a quitter.
I have no sympathy for him.

Yup
Typical Pierre. Instead of leading the team in rebounding, he pouts and quits on the team senior year.

Joe and Chris graduate on Aug. 11th. Looking forward to seeing them have full focus on basketball.

Funny, with all of this graduation stuff; nobody really talks too much about that side of it. Congrats especially to Crawford. What most don't know about Crawford is that he was a very young freshman. Playing basketball full time and graduating as a 20 year old is a terrific accomplishment.

I remember games where Pierre could have easily had double-doubles.
Dude could have been the star of the show if he would have made a few more bunnies and worked just a little bit harder.

That's right. Chris should have been a hs sr. when he was a freshman in collage

While I don't completely disagree with this statement - there should have been one coach capable of staying on pierre and the rest of the players as well.
You don't just bring in players, expect them to police themselves, and sit back and relax.

He did miss a lot of layups. Also, his hands weren't very soft. He never lost his quick feet, though, even when he couldn't jump. In his defense, however, teams collapsed all over Pierre when he was our only true "Big" guy on the floor.

You don't just bring in players, expect them to police themselves, and sit back and relax.
As an example; when Hogans was the strength coach; it was rumoured that Spoon would count out during the exercises; but wouldn't actually do them. Hogans was that coach, but you can't expect the coaches to have eyes in back of their head all the time. The other example with Spoon was the incident where he mocked a coach and ended up getting suspended.
Spoon, Niles, Sallie, Coleman and Carmouche were the veterans that were around when the 2010 recruits came in. Not good. I'm not saying that the players are 100% at fault, and the coaches aren't accountable; but it sure doesn't help.

I can never forget the tigers up 28 on Ozzie's right before the half and seeing Caparisoned going berserk at Pierre for not boxing out/making a play. That it ended up with DRose's circus dunk, a la Dominique style, made me laugh even harder at the time...and even now.
