Louisville is best thing since peanut butter.

Peanut Butter with Chocolate..plus we're not "Paper Champions"...no, L1C4 are the Defending Back to Back BIG EAST Football Co-Champions/current Sugar Bowl Champions and the Defending National Champions in Men's Badketball...04-cheers

It's sad how post #9, while funny, has proven to be correct. Raise your hands if you're surprised. Bambu is right, this rivalry is dead. Welcome to the new world order of college athletics, time to reignite Cincy and start up UConn. No need to dwindle on the past, it's not coming back, so why give a ****.

Finally a Memphis fan agrees. Nothing like people trying to relive the past. Its like chasing a ex wife after being divorced for 10 yrs. Nothing will spark that flame again. People find it difficult to see the cold hard truth in that.

Put me down as a big fan of the UofL-Memphis rivalry; at one time it was one of the best ever. Conference realignment slowed it way down, but it made a slow comeback the last couple of years, and it will pick back up this season with 2 or 3 more meetings.....but don't know about it afterwards.

To me, Memphis' fan's passion for baskeball is greater then those at Cincy, Marquette, and Notre Dame (we haven't played Syracuse and UConn enough yet to put them in the all-time rivarly list).

After 2005 C-USA Title Game and the years since it has died with Memphis.

With Syracuse, that the Conference Game for most UofL fans going forward...07-coffee3

RE: Like I've said loserville
I wouldn't worry about whom see's who as a rival or not....not every fan is going to see things the same. Heck in our fan base there are those that see XU as a hated rivalry and surprisingly those that do not see them as that big of a deal and choose to see UofL as a bigger bball rival...and this is a rivalry (UC/XU) that SI once ranked as I think the third biggest (or fourth, can't remember) rivalry in college basketball.
