Diamond in the rough maybe?

Maybe. Interesting to note the timing of the offer as well as the specifics of the offer - "1st commit gets the offer".

Some of the others that we have offered have played QB for several years. (I have seen 1 of the for a few years myself)

Also, the offers were there for the other QB's for several months whereas the offer for this one came in June.

We shall see.

Coaches tell players that all the time, standard operating procedures. Someone has to be the first offer and maybe that is the case for us. McGee has been a QB, has coached many QBS, and has evaluated 1000's of qbs, I trust his judgement.

I like whatever Coach McGee likes. As far as size of "home town", I don't recall that many were upset when Terry Bradshaw went to LA Tech in 1966. What size metropolis did he come from? Is Beaver Falls, PA a big city?

Why so negative? I think we are pretty set at the QB position for the foreseeable future. Maybe McGee sees potential. Maybe he knows something you don't. I'm guessing McGee isn't just looking for random players to fill a roster with though. It's pretty hard to convince top prospects to come and sit on the bench for a few years before even getting a shot at the starting gig.

It sounds like he is coming from a similar size private church-related high school as Brodie Croyle, Craft from Briarwood Christian and T.C. McCarron. Not bad company as a recruit.
