Krux, nothing was over sensationalized where Dyer is concerned. In fact it was worse than what was reported at Auburn. I've got nothing against Louisville and nothing against Dyer but he was given a second chance at Arkansas State and blew it. I wish both Louisville and Dyer well, but I have my doubts and Louisville fans would be wise to keep an open mind on the issue and a short leash on any problems that may arise.

I guess as an alumnus I would be very upset of my school was welcoming a piece of garbage to attend my alma mater. If the kid didn't play football, no school would want this piece of trash even setting foot on campus, period. This is a prime example of why I think college athletics are the tail that is wagging the dog, i.e. the rest of the university that actually matters. This is the same mentality that allows brazen, unapologetic criminals like Hernandez thrive and prosper in our world with wealth and privilege. Take away the opportunity of athletics away from these types of kids, and they would be exposed for the losers they truly are. This enabling behavior is the tarnish to athletics, and people are getting tired of the criminals IMHO. It doesn't mean that sports will ever go away, but they will suffer long term unless the people who run the "amateur" and pro sports organizations wise up and weed out the vermin.

He also Coached under Lou Holtz.

That isn't exactly countering his point. Holtz was a slimeball at South Carolina.

Louisville seems to take an inordinate amount of transfers. I think that reflects poorly on them but ultimately, it is their decision.

Actually We've had very little touble from any of the so called trouble makers we have taken in over the years. A couple got into trouble after They left school but I only recall 1 that got thrown out while at UL.

Ya, it really isn't that hard to keep a kid out of jail for a year or 2 while he's in school. It might be a black eye for perception or whatever else, but it will likely help them on the field.

Those of you who are reporting this as a done deal, please provide a link to your source. All I've seen are tweets and rumors. Granted, a whole lot of tweets and rumors. But if they were dependable, then Billy Donovan would have been coaching in Lexington for the past 5 years.

Louisville has generally taken anyone, provided they can play including football and basketball.
