Woman dies after falling off of a roller coaster in Texas...
This is horrible, especially this quote from the article

Brown told the Dallas Morning News that the woman had expressed concern to a park employee that she was not properly secured in her seat.
"He was basically nonchalant," Brown said. "He was, like, 'As long as you heard it click, you're fine.' Hers was the only one that went down once, and she didn't feel safe. But they let her still get on the ride."

That is horrid. Especially that her son was with her and saw her fall.

I had a similar experience (not feeling I was buckled in properly) on a ride at Six Flags in Gurnee, IL.
There, the attendant stopped, and ratched down my buckle securely

Read this last night. Can you imagine sitting next to that woman and watching her fall? Can you imagine how scary it must have been for that woman as she fell? These rides are getting more and more dangerous.

Sadly I'm not surprised this happened at a Six Flags-their park in Louisville had several major safety issues before it was closed due to Six Flags going through bankruptcy.

I've been on that Roller Coaster. Pretty hard ride. Bad things will happen to anyone unsecured.

Wasn't it the Six Flags in Louisville where the teenager had her feet cut off when the Tower ride malfunctioned?

Sounds like she was too large to be locked in safely. If that's the case, she shouldn't have been let on.

There is no place for vanity when it comes to safety. Park workers should be allowed to decline riders who's safety would be compromised do to their size. They definitely don't let young children or short people on, Obesity should be no different.

IMO that makes this situation that much worse.

I had an experience like that in 1974, when I was 12. The bar was at my knees and we were upside down. The bar should have been at my waist or shoulders. I still don't know how I held on.

That was the last ride I ever went on.

Was that at Six Flags over Texas? Shockwave?

I remember riding the Judge Roy scream down there when I was a kid. I never did like those rides. I was always worried someone would get sick on me.

No, it was at a traveling fair in upstate NY ... one of those "carnivals" that pops up for two weeks and then leaves.

That is correct.
