Geron Johnson "Freak of Nature"
-copied from http://www.finestmag.com/apps/blog/2013-...ls-academy

Geron Johnson- 6'3/203/Memphis/Senior

"A freak of nature for a point guard, in the Derrick Rose/Russell Westbrook mold of athleticism. Johnson was a pest on defense, easily the best on ball defender at the event. He brought an uptempo style that fit in well during 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 drills. Johnson has more of a scoring mentality which can be a good and bad thing. Right now he is more of an undersized shooting guard however due to his elite athleticism and 6'8 wingspan, he can get away with playing there at the college and even pro level. He is a good ball handler and passer although he is a streaky shooter. If Johnson can put together a season where he proves he can run a team playing point, don't be surprised to see his name called next june."

That is not an highlight from the camp but from the John Lucas camp before he got to Memphis. Hopefully they send one out of the KD camp.

I have been watching Tiger BB since the creation and I have never seen a more exciting, relentless guard than Geron. He reminds me of Win Wilfong and and Elmore Fortner. There is no limit to his potential. If he stays on track, he will be well rewarded. I can hardly wait to see him this year.

I can't imagine Geron not having a long career in the NBA.

I tend to agree. Yet, there are NO Tigers listed on NBA mock draft for 2014. Only Iverson in 2015 at #16.

We have a lot of players that are potential first rounders this season and next season. They just have to prove it on the court. If we make a deep run prepare to lose more then just the seniors.

RE: Geron Johnson "Freak of Nature"
I think my point is that we may be vastly over estimating where we will finish this season.
While overall we are very talented, perhaps we're not as talented as we believe.
Perhaps we're expecting too much.
Or, are we being undervalued by the scouts; NBA executives?

I agree...we have a nice team, but if we get past the sweet 16, I'd be presently surprised
