Unfortunately, we had the latter in the Regional Finals against a team that we'd already beaten. I'd rather play terribly in front of 15,000 hostile fans and lose to a #2 seed by 5 points than lose to George Mason.

It happens to every team and you are right I'd rather take a L to UCLA than be the team who will always be remembered as underachievers and arrogant. UCONN will be forever remembered as the team who took a L to a mid-major in the biggest upset that I can remember.

Not sure how you all are couching these comparisons, but if you're saying you'd rather go down in the Elite 8 to UCLA than lose to George Mason in the Final 4, I disagree 100%.

I'll take advancing further, even if it means you later lose to a lower seeded team. The team you lost to by that point has to have earlier beaten a top team or two so it's not like you are going to be their 1st top victim.

Both UConn and Memphis along with Villanova fell out of the tournament in the same round. The point he was making he would rather fall out in the same round to UCLA (a 2 seed) than fall out of the tourney against a mid-major GMU (an 11 seed).

Exactly, UCONN was a huge favorite and should had won. Memphis played the 2 seed and Nova played a 3. UCONN clearly had every advantage known to man in there game and they blew it.

Exactly. Memphis played the #2 seed UCLA in California in front of what was basically a home crowd for UCLA. We played terrible and still were in the game until the bitter end. I'm disappointed, but certainly not ashamed. We didn't achieve our goal of winning the National Championship, but we had a GREAT season and lost to a good team in the Regional Final. No reason to hang our head.

Certainly no reason to for the tigers to hang there heads, sometimes shots don't fall in the most important games. Like I said if anybody should be hanging there heads its the huskies. I guess I can't rag on the huskies to much UofL is in the Nobody is interested tournament. With that being said, its a shame with that talent they didn't play with any passion.

I still can't figure out UCONN at all. They seemed to just be indifferent from the last game against Nova all the way until the end of the season. They just didn't seem interested in the games at all.

I guess they felt when they beat Nova(there best game of the season)the season was over.
