Beckel reminds me of Ed Shultz before he went completely wonkers. I used to like to listen to Ed when he was an old school blue collar tell it like it is democrat. I respect that.

Matthews is simply demonstrating the mentality of Collectivism, a hallmark of the left. And is ironically exhibiting racism himself in this case, in that the mere color of your skin makes you culpable for actions performed by other people who happen to share your skin color.

To wit, as an individualist, I'm only personally responsible for actions in which I alone did. I can publicly reject and oppose slavery, Jim Crow laws, treatment of Native Americans, etc. But apologize? No. Sorry, but I didn't have a hand in any of that.

Wow. That really was pretty telling and insightful. Beckel freaking nails it. Heart in right place, but bad policies, bad programs and even worse results. It's well past time they were re-examined and many of them eliminated.

Matthews was referring to what hat happened to those two specific guests who told him about racism they experienced in their lifetime.
