Marcus Smart Classic
At least, that's what it seems like ESPN might like to call the Old Spice this year based on the couple of articles I have read this week. In fact, just now in my Facebook News Feed ESPN College Basketball posted a picture of Marcus saying that he "highlights" the tournament.

Oklahoma State as a team doesn't show up in some pundits preseason Top 25 projections.

Sigh

EDIT: Updated to reflect that some pundits do actually have OK St. in the Top 25. (Thanks, Stammers)

Nevermind that Oklahoma State as a team doesn't show up in most pundits preseason Top 25 projections.

Sigh

Prove them wrong.

I don't think that is true. Oklahoma State shows up on both ESPN and Bleacher Report lists. They don't on Parrish's list at CBS. Not sure what else is out there.

RE: Marcus Smart Classic
Stammers, you are correct. Jason King at ESPN has OK State in the Top 25. Katz agrees with him. I didn't bother looking up Bleacher Report as I think it's useless. But your point is taken.

Marcus Smart was Big 12 player of the year, National Freshman of the year, and came back to school when he would have been a top 5 draft pick. He is the best player in that tournament, why wouldn't they being talking about him?

LeBryan Nash is also a projected 1st round pick for OK State.

I hope Geron guards him. I do know Smart is supposed to be the better overall prospect but Geron is the better defender of the two. We limit/shut down Smart and we win by as much as we want.

He's very inconsistent. He's good but not fantastic.

Markel Brown is a very good guard in his own right. OSU has a good team, and could be outstanding if Nash decides to bring effort and consistency (big if). The back court matchup should be really fun to watch.

He is really good.

And OSU will be really good.

As will Memphis. The first game with them should be fun. If there is a second and it is in the Orlando final...will be even funner.

Smart and Brown are superb players...Memphis has to many bodies that are just as good. A Smart vs Geron match-up will be amazing.
