News conference Wednesday for Big Ten Bowl in Ford Field
No news on the other side of the bowl
I thought that it was the B1G v. the ACC.
acc is still working on the other side of the bowl

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that "the other side" will be the ACC. Call it a hunch.

I tend to agree, but it's interesting that Delany pointed out that only the MAC and B1G occupy the same footprint around Detroit. I wouldn't totally rule out some sort of rotation. Maybe that's the other half of the ACC rotation in St Pete--leaving open 3 years for the MAC.

I wouldn't mind a rotation with the MAC. ACC/MAC and maybe AAC.
Close travel outlet for most of the B1G footprint, virtually all of the MAC, Pitt, Cuse, Louisville and Cincinnati.

RE: Ford Field Bowl Game for Big Ten
In May, ESPN reported the Lions were expected to create and operate the new bowl game at Ford Field. The new bowl game would eliminate the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl after this season, sources told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
Big Ten Blog
ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett write about all things Big Ten in the conference blog.
• Blog network: College Football Nation
In the new bowl, the Big Ten would play an ACC team, sources said. In the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, the Big Ten played a Mid-American team at Ford Field.
Ford Field also is the Lions' home field.
This year is the final year in a four-year deal pairing the eighth selection from the Big Ten against a MAC team. Only three times in the past 11 years has a Big Ten team played in the bowl.

RE: Ford Field Bowl Game for Big Ten
ACC looks pretty much set
1. Orange SEC, B10 or ND
2. Champs B1
2A. Capital One vs SEC (When B10 plays in Orange, every 3 years)
3-6 Belk SEC
3-6 Gator/Music SEC
3-6 Pinstripe B10
3-6 Sun PAC 12
7-10 Detroit - B10
7-10 Military - AAC
The ACC Bowl line-up appears to be set with 2-3 slots left for the lower tier.
7-10 Liberty - ACC wants another B12 matchup. Top Choice
7-10 Shreveport - SEC vs ACC
Beef O'Brady - Rumored AAC vs ACC/CUSA. I have a hard time seeing this unless one of the two happen.
- 10 Bowl doing a split with ACC/CUSA do a setup (Shrev/St. Pete) like they did with Gator/Music
- 11th slot available every 3 years, kinda of the backup when Capital is not available.

RE: Ford Field Bowl Game for Big Ten
What are the odds that both the Big 14 and ACC have a team for the Detroit bowl in a given year?

BOB is not a rumor. Both Greg Auman and Brett McMurphy have reported it.

ACC won't support (with appreciable amount of fans) that game in Detroit.......and will the B10 have a team available every year??

Don't see the attraction of this bowl. Sorry. This bowl needs to die before it even starts.

IF ACC WANTS AN 11TH TIE MAYBE WE TAKE PARTIAL IN THE MIAMI BOWL OR BIRMINGHAM BOWL.
LEAVING THE BOWL LINEUP AS:
1. Orange SEC, B10 or ND
2. Champs B1
2A. Capital One vs SEC (When B10 plays in Orange, every 3 years)
3-6 Belk SEC
3-6 Gator/Music SEC

7-10 Detroit - B10
7-10 Military - AAC
7-10 Independence- no idea
7-10 Beef AAC(3 years)
7-10 Birmingham(3 years)?

That's where the MAC and/or American come into play.

They basically kicked the MAC out of the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl at Ford Field, in order to have this bowl. The Big 14 was supposed to send a team to the LCPB but rarely did. As long as you had a MAC team from nearby you'd still get a good crowd. With this bowl if the Big 14 can't supply a team (which seems fairly likely, as well as the ACC not providing a team), who's going to go to Detroit in winter to play a #7 (or whatever) ACC team? If I was a MAC official I'd tell the Big 14, Detroit, and Ford Field to shove it.

Just exactly where has the St. Pete Bowl been confirmed. All I have seen was a tweet. If there is a confirmation please post the link.

Not final yet, but looks like Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl in St. Pete will have American on one side, with 3 years ACC, 3 C-USA on other side
he is reputable

The prospect that they would be sending a team to Detroit more often is why they are working on getting the ACC tie-in for the bowl.

Yeah, I see this bowl in Boston College's future on a regular basis. Syracuse will enthusiastically play in the snow in a baseball field in NYC on a regular basis (and the Yankees will enthusiastically let us), Pitt playing anywhere but Birmingham doesn't seem right , and UL and ND will finish too high to fall to this game. That leaves BC batting cleanup and taking one for the team Seriously though, I think this will be Pitt/BC v. B1G/MAC. Unless a nearby B1G teams qualifies (fingers crossed it doesn't fall to UMD or RU), attendance could get ugly. B1G v. MAC makes a lot more sense to me. Actually if this was sponsored by McDonald's, it could be the Big Mac Bowl, featuring a B1G team and a MAC team. That almost makes too much sense!
