If this happens would make 4 transfer corners that JMU has picked up this summer to make up for the 3 who were booted..

Here's the story that (I'm assuming) Stoss referenced on their dismissal from UNM

I'm not going to judge them based on one incident. I don't know the guys at all, but it doesn't *sound* like these are types of character guys we want in our program. I gotta think this may not have been one isolated incident.

Yep, a bit immature on the part of the players, but as an older brother, I can see sticking up for my sibling. I wonder what MM's take on the two bros practice behavior will be...if MM is anything, he's fair, but he won't cut them any special favors.

I don't know what Davie said or how he acted towards the first brother that could have provoked the pouting, but my god, when I played football in Texas, we were regularly hit up-side the head with a 2x4 in practice. Which probably explains alot of things about my personality. 03-lmfao

EDIT: We did have our helmets on when the 2x4 was slammed into us...not that it mattered much when the guy swinging it was a former OL from Baylor!

RE: Transfer CB from Ole Miss
Bob Davie is an idiot IMO and I'm surprised anybody gave him a HC job again, but I'd have to think that if I'm the coach and this is the first trouble I've had with a pair of brothers, I'm calling them into the office after everyone has calmed down. We have a discussion (perhaps this occurred, no idea). If, at that point, I'm getting through, maybe I suspend them for a week and knock them down the depth chart and make them earn their way back up it because the rest of my team saw this and I can't just do nothing. However, I'm not going to pull their scholarships based on what's in that article. Maybe Bob Davie really felt the need to send a strong message or something but a couple weeks from the opener, I'm not letting 2 guys go who are slated to get PT if it was just that.

Stoss just put up a pic of the Jackson bros at a JMU practice (obvioulsy not in uniform) on Twitter. He then proceeded to explain that they hadn't made a decision yet....I find it hard to believe that they'd be here this late in the game before the season without a good probability that they'll sign.

Agreed. I expect they'll sign today....not too many schools will have scholarships available for BOTH this late in the game.

They need to be practicing next week if they want to see the field this year.

RE: Transfer CB from Ole Miss
Abdul Bangora ran a 10.67 100m as a state finalist in HS? wow... that should work out to a 4.4-4.5ish 40.

We have some SERIOUS speed on this team... I don't see Bangora getting burned by a WR this season

Apparently he has a hip problem according to Stoss:

"WR Brandon Ravenel, who is vying not to redshirt, has a hip problem. So does CB Abdul Bangura."

So...that leaves us with:

Austin Lane (out the season)
Birdsong (emergency appendectomy)
Thourhgood (switches positions b/c shoulder can't stay healthy)
Till (leaves practice today with an achilles injury of undisclosed severity)
Ravenel and Bangura both have hip problems (not sure how severe)

Snakebitten again...what is in the water down there?

Snakebitten? You do understand that football isn't square dancing? Big, fast men run into one another with serious intent, and sometimes they get a boo-boo.

The only player on your list of "snakebitten" players who is out for the season is Austin...and that was known weeks ago...and his loss is not a major deal.

"Snakebitten"? No. In truth, JMU list of bumps and bruises coming out of preseason has been relatively minor.
