Yea, I knew they weren't good, but their RPI was around 300 last year and they didn't bring in anyone. So that should hopefully be a good game to make a statement and get the guy's confidence up. After that St. Joseph and LSU had RPIs in the 80s. I would expect to play LSU, and we should win, but their frontcourt worries me a little.

Writers' skepticism is well earned in this case. Recent history, and all that. That'll make it sweeter when we win the whole thing!

Sienna should be a walk, but LSU in the next round could be intriguing.


There's also no reason why it shouldn't be Memphis vs. Okie State in the finals.

Yep, we could play Oklahoma State twice, once on the road and once on a neutral court this year. That last happened when we played Tennnessee two years ago.

Siena was 8-24 last year, but was one of the youngest teams in D1 and returns 4 of 5 starters (as far as I can tell), and only graduated one player last season.

They ranked an abysmal 297th in Kenpom rankings last season.

They are well coached and have some really good players. We're gonna need to win the 50/50 balls and play with a lot of energy. If we stumble out of the gates again this year, at least we'll have plenty of opportunities to make it back up.

Sienna was 27-7 in the 2009-10 season but since then have dropped every year. Last year they finished 8-24. This year they have a new coach, Jimmy Patsos. Patsos coached for Loyola (Maryland) last year. You may remember him as the crazy coach that cussed his players in the game last year. That was the game that we got killed on the boards (23 offensive rebounds).

Siena will be tougher with him as the coach but we should beat them easily.
