I'm not rooting for him either. But people hating him because he's a normal college student that goes out and parties is just plain dumb. If someone hates what Manziel does off the field, then they have to hate the majority of the players that play at NIU, past and present.
There's only one big difference, Manziel is in the spotlight so the media will pick at everything once he does a stupid thing.

Right, sports in general has major cultural issues. Look at the Penn State incidents, Stuebenville, and Urban Meyer/Florida to name a few.

He's just an attention getting example of a much larger cultural issue, which is why do we care enough about these jerks to let them take advantage?

debatable

Name one QB, based on his play from last year, is better than Johnny Manziel?

Bridgewater? Close, but no. Better NFL prospect. Yes
Tajh Boyd? HELL NO
Marcus Mariota? Might be next year
Braxton Miller? He can use his feet, passing is another thing QBs need to be good at

Depending on the situation the QB is facing I would agree, Manziel can scramble and make things happen, great runner when the jail break happens. Have Johnny and Jordan run through 4 defensive backs, see who gets through, Jordan all day. Manziel is a better passer. Jordan is our guy, take him all day long.
It seems like Manziel is getting to big, not making meetings and showing disrespect, not the attributes I would like in a Huskie QB.

Agree. And just because he's a college student doesn't mean he gets a pass for acting like a little a-hole. To be asked to the Manning camp is a privilege & to be out at a bar getting sh*tfaced so you can't show up at said camp the next day...is disrespectful and bratty. As someone else pointed out...neither C. Harnish nor J. Lynch would be disrespecting the Mannings or anyone else.

Heard on the Score this morning from Brad Biggs NFL teams are indeed looking at this young mans behavior, and even looking for more underneath. His draft status is dropping by the day.
