That color is "Matador Red," an actual 1957 color. My dad had a 2-door '57 in that color. He traded it in for a "family car" when my older sisters were born, so I never got to see it except in pictures. Dangit.

we had a black 56. I don't remember who it belonged to because my Dad was always a T-Bird guy. I can remember Mom begging him to get a four door with all the kids. So she eventually got a station wagon and he kept his Birds.

When he died, Mom bought herself a Cadillac!

Weird lighting in that picture, plus all computer monitors display colors somewhat differently. Here's a picture of the color in better light.
