I also make a mean mojito with the mint I grow and fresh limes as well as a refreshing Caprihina

However I just got back from a week a napa so there have been a lot of big reds in my recent past

I am apparently a very simple man. 01-ncaabbs

For those that like devils backbone, you have to try their new Turbo Cougar. It's a strong blonde bock at 6.5%. It is awesome.

I'm your basic beer wimp. Can take it or leave it. When I do, it is Coors Light or Michelob Ultra. After 2, I'm done. OJF drank mine!

RE: Summer Topic III - Beer
Not being a hop-head, the number of more "sophisticated" summer options comes down considerably for me, relative to the fall and winter when I favor darker beers, particularly stouts and barrel-aged beers. During that time of the year anything brewed by Southern Tier is wonderful.

In the summer, I enjoy lighter options. New Belgium's Lips of Faith is great when you are only having one (its sour). Kona's Wailua is a great light, sessionable option. Buffalo Bill's Orange Blosson Cream Ale gets not-so-good reviews on Beer Advocate, but I far prefer it to Blue Moon or Shock Top that I find to be pretty heavy.

Came across this when I was in St Augustine, FL this past week. Out of Bold City Brewery in Jacksonville. Good stuff. Too bad it doesn’t come in a purple or gold can.

Good times & craft beer offerings @ the Duke Club Fall Festival on Bridgeforth field this past Friday night. Third time for this event & growing each year, almost 500 in attendance.

$1 PBR drafts at Applebee's all day, every day. Only 10 ounces, but ice cold in a frosty mug, and they keep 'em coming.

Local Octoberfests. Right now Blue Mountains’s 13.Five and Starr Hills Festy are in the beer fridge. Devil’s Backbones’s Octoberfest may be the smoothest beer I’ve ever had but doesn’t have the flavor of the other two.

my first time attending. That event was outstanding. I'll definitely attend again; that event was scheduled for opening week and that is a perfect time to have it - get the football crowd back together again. Saw lots of friends to catch up with.

Yes! My go-to beer when I want to make a point to the craft beer addicts that you can drink PBRs with no fear of fortified buzz or Hops overload. FWIW most of the beers I grew up with are long gone, that list of defunct beers is impressive if I do say so myself, some of the worse tasting cheapest beers on earth. Dobler's comes to mind, six-packs for 69 cents in 1965. Hedrick's on every tap in Albany, (brewery owned by the corrupt regime that ruled politics for decades, if you wanted a license to dispense, you had to have at least one tap with Hedrick's, a truly terrible beer.)

If you are ever up in Vermont you have to try the Alchemist Brewery's Heady Topper which is widely regarded as one of the best beers in the world.

Best beer I've ever had. It single-handedly got me into IPAs.

One of my buddies from JMU was from Essex Junction in Vermont where the brewery is, we went to his bachelor party and his dad had gotten like 4 cases of it. He was in the group ahead of us and like every other hole we'd have a fresh Heady Topper waiting on the teebox. It was amazing.

Cheers to you also!

I didnt want to start a new beer thread, and thought there was a more recent one with ‘beer’ in the title. Maybe I missed it...

TMI perhaps, but it might be of interest to some:
