Hobson tweeted that Atkins (obviously) & Michael Johnson is still a prime target for long term deals.

Between the Eifert signing and this, it's a good day for the Bengals. I don't know what Johnson was asking for, but apparently the Bengals were trying nearly up to the deadline to get a deal done with him today before getting this agreement with Dunlap. I'm guessing they got Dunlap for quite a bit less than Johnson was asking for and that could be a bargain because I actually think he's better than Michael Johnson when healthy. Of course "when healthy" is the key phrase, but this is the NFL and injuries are always going to be a risk.

Now If they can get a long term deal with Atkins before the regular season starts this will really be a great off-season. Then next off-season all they have to do wrt the DL barring injuries is see if Johnson's price is affordable and/or whether Hunt is ready to take over.

Totally agree about Dunlap. being better than Johnson. If they can get Atkins long term they will be in nice shape up front for a while.
