Tennessee has Rivals' #1, ESPiN's #6, 247sports #7, and Scout's #8 rated recruiting class...

Somebody thinks Butch Jones is doing a good job in Knoxville so far - and he's not alone. All 4 recruiting services back up that opinion...

Isn't he mostly loading up with a bunch of 3 stars?

I'll be interested to see how he does in the 2015 class coming off another 6-6 season.

They have their fair share, but they have a bunch of 4 stars, too, plus Jalen Hurd (5 star). There are still a handful of in state 4 stars that are uncommitted, including a WR and DE. Getting those guys instead of Alabama or, even worse, Vanderbilt will be huge for them. They have already locked up the #1 and #2 kids in the state, and the #4 kid is committed to Notre Dame (MBA grad here in Nashville, which is an elite boys prep school. No surprise about Notre Dame. Most of those boys go to elite private universities, anyway.)

Stars are overblown. They do not count heart and effort.

Stars are generally a collective assessment of the potential of the kid "if he has his head screwed on straight".

True. And that's the $64,000 question.
