We're also in an era where teams play more games. The overwhelming majority of college basketball teams throughout history did not even play 30 games in a given season, or not many more games if so.
I'm just saying, if you didn't at least advance to more than one Final Four and at least one national title game, your run may get lost in the sands of time. We'll see how that goes for Gonzaga but if they fall off the face of the Earth starting next season and never go to a single Final Four, they may be remembered as much as Duquesne in the 40's and 50's. As unfortunate as it is, if you don't get to the biggest stage for any length of time, not only in a given sport but any position in any field in life, then your accomplishment runs the risk of being lost in the sands of time.
Not saying that as a dig at Memphis, they were force to be reckoned with, especially in the 2.0 era of C-USA with Cal coaching but it's not likely to be remembered much in college basketball lore unless they go on another dominant run soon.

Do you consider Gonzaga a dynasty in WCC terms?

We're going to have an at the least a sweet sixteen team next year, very possible elite eight or more..
We haven't had a team this good sense 08..
I think next year will be our welcome back party.
Go Tigers.

Sadly, I'll miss these visits after they lose to Duke, Middle Tennessee, Ark. St. and UTM.
awww, someone is out of their hemorrhoid cream. #butthurt
it is nice having a coach whose first three offensive plays of a season didnt end up in illegal procedure penalties.
It's a new beginning for Tiger Football. Even Tennstud's hospitality for the players is welcomed again. He served a party of 40 last week requiring two additional cooks.
Btiger and I have always maintained that Tennstud was Memphis's most underutilized recruiting tool. Tennstud hasn't felt this accepted and appreciated since the Charlie Bailey years.

Defining "dynasty" is what seems to be the basis for debate here.
From a national perspective, UCLA would meet that criteria in the late 60s, and Duke in the 90s. Memphis would not meet that criteria.
However, the question posed was "from a CUSA perspective".
The answer is yes. Can't argue with numbers.

And some people think dynasty means sports programs overall. No, it means one sport.
