RE: OT: Charleston, SC
Hanks Steakhouse near the market, 82 Queen, and magnolia's are our favorites downtown. Sullivan's Island has a street full of restaurants. Much cheaper prices, but quality of food just as good. The Boathouse on Isle of Palms, Morgan's Creek marina on Isle of Palms. Love Charleston. These are my favorites. Also, if you head a little north of Mount Pleasant, Jack's Cosmic Dog is a really cool hot dog joint. Was on Food network or travel Channel. We always stop by there at least once after golf when we visit Charleston.

Definitely do a carriage ride. Lots of history to see. Fort Sumter tour is worth it for the boat ride out and back. Fort itself is not much to see, but cool if you have never been there. RiverDogs minor league baseball is fun. Yankees A ball team. Stadium is on campus of the Citadel.

Hope this helps.

Poogan's Porch had some awesome fried chicken last time I went. Upstairs is suppose to be haunted. Toast on Meeting Street has an amazing breakfast/bunch menu. King Street has alot of shopping.

If you want a nice day trip head down to Beaufort and grab lunch. Really cool small town overlooking one of the rivers.

See Fort Sumter, USS Yorktown, Boone Farm Plantation. Take the miss on the dinner boat ride. See the CSS Hunley at the old Naval Base. You'd have a hard time finding bad food in Charleston. Take the house buggy ride during the day for the history tour and do it again at night for the ghost tour. Walk the Battery.

Breakfast: Jestine's Kitchen... mainly locals eat there. Best breakfast I've ever had.

82 Queen... AMAZING restaurant. Great shrimp & grits and fried green tomatos!

Poogans is one of my favorite restaurants. Great place to eat.

Ah, Charleston. 03-cloud9 My wife and I fell in love with the town. Great food, the most friendly people on earth and sights to behold. As soon as my wife gets off the phone I'll ask her which restaurants we went to, ha, ha. Only thing "I" didn't like were the "no seem-ums" (gnats), man they are voracious. 04-jawdrop I wouldn't mind going back. If you do go make it in March/April the weather is GREAT. 04-cheers

Ok. The restaurant is in the oldest building in Charleston and the food is good. I think the name is Pirates Cove or something like that. This:

Thats what i thought...But she HAD to have it. She doesn't even eat SHRIMP!!! Anyway, you go along to get along.

The weather was absolutely beautiful... We were on Folley beach (not Folsom), beats any beach from FL.

I really did enjoy the town, so much to see and do in just a few days...cannot wait to go back sometime. Magnolias...PEACH JEZEBEL SAUCE...I am still dreaming...
