Well if I were Pitt I wouldn't want to keep playing WVU either. Of course Pitt can't beat FCS and MAC teams so I'm not sure how far they have to drop for winnable games. Will the NCAA let them play some D2 games?

I've heard differently about both. Although I seriously doubt there will be any meetings in the near future...

I've heard Pitt,UVA and PSU are on the verge of happening from decent sources. Maryland is dead and ECU is doubtful unless they move their home games to Charlotte

I hope Pitt does play WVU again. Maybe like Mizzou-Kansas, time will make the difference.

The B12 and PAC have 9 conference games now. The B1G is moving toward 9 by 2016 and the ACC will have 8 conference plus the ND scheduling alliance. It might be a little more tricky going forward to set up OOC home and home series between P5 schools.

On a personal level I wouldn't mind seeing a RU-WVU home and home series In the near future.

Think you'll have a better chance to break that losing streak after the hiatus? 05-stirthepot

I'm guessing once pitt gets more of ND's future rotation dates, there will be more penn st games announced and some movement with wvu also in fb.

RE: WVU - VT agree to home & home
I agree on Pitt waiting until the ND rotation get's fleshed out for long term planning purposes. I think PSU would be first priority, and that if an permanent annual game can be agreed upon then it would be ideal. However, I think playing as little as 4 times per decade would be doable. I think having WVU on the schedule would be fine too, but I would probably prefer to lock PSU into 4 games per decade over playing WVU annually tbh. But realistically, I don't think WVU would have an interest in playing Pitt annually anymore due to the 3 OOC slots available to it (same for PSU).

With ND on the schedule probably once every 3 years, I could see PSU and WVU overlapping on dates where Pitt does not play ND and then either one or the other when ND is on the schedule.

Hearing that wvu and Pitt are very close to signing a home and home for football. From what it sounds like, the games won't be played for awhile. Maybe ten years from now. Of course going a decade plus without playing will totally change how the game is perceived by all involved. Sounds like the bball series will be coming back soon though.
