NCAA major violations-SEC leads, but doesn't
Interesting article on major NCAA violations in recent years. The SEC is tied with the CUSA with 6 major violations since 2009. On the other hand, only the MAC (1981) and the Big 12 (1997) have gone longer without a postseason ban than the SEC (2004).

Always pay cash. Always have boosters do it and have them stonewall the NCAA, while the internal staff fully cooperate.

Small schools and private schools get disproportionately large punishments. PSU would have been killed if it was SMU-sized and private.

UNC has had this all figured out for several decades making the rest of the NCAA look like chumps.

You are behind the times guys. You don't pay cash anymore at least not directly. You find an independent preacher that will take his tithe (or a bit more) and slip the rest to family. If that doesn't work there is the acquisition of a state job for a family member (a job which they keep even beyond the players matriculation or early pro signing). If state representatives are in on it there will be no subpoena for further investigation from the NCAA. And the family will never tell as long as they have job security. Mark Emmert should know this since he was the President at L.S.U. when this latter method came into vogue. And remember Saban was the coach when Emmert was the President. I'd suspect the methodology has been perfected since his arrival at Alabama.

No. That's when you ramp up the payments.

Or you take the latest UNLV route and hire the coach right after the kid goes pro.
