No names have been thrown out on either VU's site or anywhere else, so it's not clear if these 4 were significant contributors on last year's team that went 9-4 with a bowl win (to be fair, there were no surprising wins within those 9 - the losses were to UGa, UF, USC, and Northwestern).

I've heard some names around town, but it would be inappropriate and scandalous to name who without proper confirmation, given the gravity of the matter. But none of the names I heard were important contributors last year.

Apparently not only have four been suspended, then dismissed from the football team and the university, but six other players (according to USA Today) are still under investigation in the same or related investigation. My non-reported source suggests that all ten players are either redshirt freshmen or entering freshmen who were all on-campus for summer workouts and classes. He was very quick to note though, for the record, that NOBODY has been identified by any reports or press releases by police, university, or any other entity and suggested that Vandy has a history of dealing with these types of things behind closed doors and without ever identifying anyone in public.

Vandy could be very short handed in the next few years before it is all said and done!
