Great read ODUOldtimer! The Pitt write up paints a pretty fair assessment of the Monarchs. I like that you found this, and I like that they are not looking past us! I want their best to go against our best, because we are going to bring it!

This assessment seems to be in line with that of just about everyone else I have read, not just for Pitt, but across the board. I think it is also the way most of us on here see it also in terms of our games against the FBS schools this year. In general, we get credit for our offense, our defense is noted as our weak spot, and there is the admonition to not take us for granted.
If I disagree at all, it is that I expect our defense to play a little tougher than what most pundits tend to expect. Toward the end of the year last year, I thought the defense was playing much better than it did early in the year. The JMU game is a good example. The defense played pretty strong against GSU until the fourth quarter meltdown, which was triggered by the Heinicke fumble and the fourth down call. The additions this year should result in a marked improvement, and I think we saw some of that in the spring game.
What this means to me is that I see this team playing all of its FBS games tough, with a good chance of stealing one or two while remaining the underdog.

Nice find! Some nice respect for ODU from Pitt. I like that he put "Won the regular season CAA title". Phil Steele, also, mentioned the same. The CAA and those clown "co-champions", who didn't even win it can claim what they want, but the world knows the truth!

Trap game for Pitt. We are sandwiched between Virginia, Va Tech and Navy.

Nice find, and certainly a well-written assessment of the match-up. I'm hoping the Pitt secondary is as vulnerable to our passing game as the author implies.
