RE: ND/Southern Cal extend series
This hints at a solution to a Pac-12 scheduling issue: Having an odd number of teams needing a conference game on Thanksgiving week, when either Stanford or USC is playing ND, is not ideal.
The two BYU at USC games announced here will be played on Thanksgiving weekend:
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/76563...-2019.html
Quote:The Trojans will visit LaVell Edwards Stadium on Sept. 14, 2019 and then host the Cougars at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on the Thanksgiving weekends in 2021 (Nov. 27) and 2023 (Nov. 25).
If USC and Stanford (or any even number of Pac teams) are playing non-conference games that weekend, then it's easier to schedule everyone else for a conference game.
This also implies that future Utah-BYU games won't be going back to Thanksgiving weekend, certainly not on an every-year basis.

This was never in doubt, and thankfully so. Best rivalry ever.
