Yep. Gary is a storyteller. Take it all with a grain of salt and try and laugh a little.

I agree with that, and I'm certainly not in what seems to be his target audience.
The rap music he blares is a prime indicator that I am not in that group.
All I'm after is a legitimate source of information on Tiger recruiting and sports.

Because of his relationship with Josh, GP knows the inside of the program better than anyone.

I cant stand all this new rap/country crossover. I like my rap rap and my country old school.
Actually I dont like much rap, I like the old Outkast stuff and most of JayZ's stuff but not much else.

I don't think anyone is challenging that, even though I know nothing about their relationship. For me, its nothing more than just tell us what you know abut the Tigers.
Simply put, some of us wish for him to tell us all about the Tigers for at least as much time as he talks about himself. Lots of excitement for the team, the new conference and a demanding schedule.
Tiger fans are always eager for news, and these new summer workouts with all the new players, etc, etc, just seem like a golden opportunity to pass along some daily [or regular] info on how things are going with the individual players, coaches, etc.
I can dodge the rap music, but not the droning on about how many flights he has taken, his taste in girls, who he went out with from ESPN, etc, etc.

If John Martin did the show with Parrish, I wouldn't listen.
Carson does play a great straight man.
And Calkins does a great job of playing a 52 year old man giggling about girls titties.
giggling or jiggling? would change the way I think about him.

Don't worry, he'll get the call to national radio/tv full-time, then y'all will be happy. Maybe you'll get more June SEC football odds or veterinarian talk, then.
Lighten up, Francis.
Or more commercials in the middle of convos.
Great points formanner

I hate to use this lame logic but..........anyone can get an AM talk show and talk about whatever they want. Grab you some sponsers (or sponser yourself) and talk Tigers 24 /7. See how your ratings look and then we can decide if he is "doing it wrong". Also, much like the CA people only see (or read or hear in the radio world) what they want to see, hear, or read. Gary does not really play much rap that I can think of (thats vernon) and Gary talks about the Tigers a lot (just like the CA covers the Tigers a lot). At least in my opinion.

Every show is going to have it annoyances just a nature of the business. With that being said GP has things that bug me but perhaps not others (which is fine). With that being said, they do talk tigers a good bit and I appreciate that since it isn't their obligation. I think it a good local sports program but I've yet to hear any sports program I felt was compelling.
I would disagree that he is a good story teller. He likes to tell stories but I wouldn't use the word good. Rambles too much and takes forever to get across simple points. Quite amazing how long it takes. I only listen to sports during my 15m drive from work. If I happen to leave at 4p then I don't listen period since the program is pointless during that time frame.
