One thing I disagree with is how the article says NIU MIGHT get into the top 25 with wins at both Purdue and Iowa. I have to imagine NIU would be in with an Iowa win.

Considering we started last season with votes I'd imagine we'd have more to start this season. So hopefully after a W at Iowa we will be top 25 or just barely outside. If for the first time in awhile we go 4-0 in OOC I sure hope we get the media hype and the top 25 ranking to go with it.

Yes I at least can't imagine we start lower than 30, so if there are no upsets in the top 30, maybe we would have to win both Big 10 games to get in. That is going to be extremely tough to sweep that which is why I don't think you should ever schedule 2 Big 10 road games to start the season, if its 1 home and 1 away that's fine..

Never knew the Orange Bowl would create so much NIU/JL/MAC hate....

If only the underdog was viewed the same in college football as it is in college basketball. That is one thing I will never understand. Mickey Mouse Sports Net goes crazy of the march madness Cinderella story, but in college football you'd think the whole world has come to an end.

In regards to this it is interesting to go back and watch the 2003 college gameday of BGSU Vs. NIU and see how different Kirk herbstreit views the MAC in that year compared to last year.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR3C9F3XX_k

It is also funny to see how Corso talks about NIU...

Why would you surprised people don't think too highly of Lynch after he shot off his mouth and proceed to play like hot garbage?

The pathetic thing is that all the comments refer to last year's games. They aren't running a Lynch for Heisman campaign to win last year's award.

OMG !!!

The highlight video was totally goose bump awesome to watch....and loved the music.

Difficult to select my most favorite play...probably the TD run over Akron defender.

Maybe the the longest and quality NIU football clips compilation of games I can ever recall.

Little doubt he is a marked man this coming season. He cannot do it all himself.

How well he does personally strongly correlates to the development of receivers and running backs.

Sure glad to know the tacky and endless banners on lips of HS will mostly be removed and replaced by the digital ribbon.

I guess I'm surprised that so many would bother posting to a Yahoo article.

Any story that has a "Kardashian" in it will typically get about 4,300 comments in 10-15 minutes.

RE: Lynch Heisman article one of the featured yahoo stories
Remember back in January when some people questioned the idea that the Orange Bowl got us $5million of exposure? This Yahoo story is just the beginning. Lynch as a HT candidate could only happen if NIU is a recognizable name to a national audience. More and more will be written about us as the summer continues. It doesn't matter how good or bad Iowa is, when we beat the Hawks, we become a top 25 team and the Lynch machine begins to point to New York. Playing on New Year's day in Miami was something none of us could imagine just 1 year ago. Everything in sports is momentum. Lets beat the Hawks, fill Huskie Stadium (albeit for 5 times) and really make some NATIONAL noise.

Lynch finished 6th in the Heisman last year. Not sure how much the Orange Bowl has to do with this.

I just love the fact that people are still getting so worked up about us in the Orange Bowl.
