It was a nice surprise to interact with Tim Beckman, his wife, and some other family members in Chicago. While lounging around the Marriott downtown Chicago with some friends, I noticed what looked like a Tim Beckman. They were sitting around casually as well, so I took a moment to say hello.

It gave me the opportunity to thank him for moving the Toledo Football program in the right direction, and for other contributions to the progress in the athletic program. I mentioned I was disappointed to see him go, but was looking forward to future success at Illinois.

He was very cordial, and appreciated the interaction. He said several times how he is still a big fan of Toledo, and had fond memories of being connected with the program. He spoke highly of MOB and Coach Campbell. He also gave credit for his success at Toledo to the players more than once.

Just wanted to let the Rocket nation know he is still a big fan and wishes everyone well.
