Semi OT: NCAA Football '14
I heard on SVP & Russilo this morning that SVP got a copy of NCAA '14 from EA Sports and was playing over the weekend. He said that he used Maryland and played against ODU. He made cracks that he couldn't pronounce the qb's name, but that he went a perfect 15-15 against him the first time he played on heisman level.

Point of the post, sucks that ODU got built into the game this year. Maybe if we announce later this summer, we can make it into NCAA Football '15.

Why does it suck? ODU declared for FBS over a year ago, giving the game producers plenty of time to add them in. I'd be curious to see if they got their stadium in and accurately. It'd be nice to play with the Dukes at BFS that actually looks like BFS...one day maybe.

They're saying that odu was added in this early because they assumed they were beginning their transition in 2012 due to announcing so early.
That's quality ea development right there. They didn't even put in the research. Meanwhile south Alabama was left out of last year's game because they somehow overlooked them.

It's gonna be funny for ODU fans and the Georgia State fan to do a Dynasty with their teams this year. Half their schedule is gonna say vs. FCS Southeast or FCS East.

People that have played the game early say that they included odu's stadium and sent developers last season to games.
Alternatively, a Texas state fan has pointed out all the lazy mistakes they made on their stadium and it's not very accurate. Unless you're bcs, the developers seem to be too busy to bother trying too hard.
I expect that if JMU ever appeared in the game, bfs will have many inaccuracies.

All they need to do is take the double decker and endzone of Oregon State's Reser Stadium and one of the sidelines from Idaho's Kibbie Dome for the Godwin side. :-)

I haven't owned an NCAA since 2008, but pretty much all of the non-BCS (and even some of the lower BCS teams) stadiums were generics. I would've assumed they would get all the stadiums in by now, but I guess not.

EA just sucks now. I got one of the NCAA games used about a year ago and have played it once. It just pissed me off that I had to pay an extra $10 to EA in order to be able to fully play the Dynasty Mode (or whatever they call it).

However, I'll still pull out my NCAA 2006 every now and then and play for a while.

Dude, NCAA 2004 is where it's at. I probably logged more hours doing Dynasty in that game than all other video games combined. I still bust it out from time to time so that I can play with JMU.

Not to be a ******* but I was curious about Umass rating and it is actually the lowest at 61 (Akron 63). VT got a 93, ahead of Clemson and FSU, despite losing to both (not sure about the teams returning starters). But in NCAA football all that matters is a solid RB/QB combo and you can work around the rest.

I thought I saw Georgia State was a 60-60-60 (overall-offense-defense ratings, not the attendance average for their last three seasons). I know ODU is a 70-74-68, and while the 74 is probably on-point, I admit I have to chuckle when I see that the NCAA programmers think there's established FBS programs have worse defenses than ODU's. God willing, they'll be a lot better this season, but if they're going off the past, I don't see it.

JMU did score the same amount of points against both....just saying.

True. But the ODU-JMU game was competitive. I wouldn't be surprised if MM called off the dogs (get it?!) in the 4th in order to be civil. Which would be better than than what we did if true.

I think somewhere around there is the one I play every once in a while, just the multiplayer mini games though, tug of war is really fun and gets really competitive. It might be 2007 or 2008 that I liked. But yeah, EA Sports games are usually just frustrating with how lazy they get with certain things.

Some of those team ratings are pretty interesting. I guess EA is gonna be pretty surprised when VT is VT and when Florida wins the national championship 02-13-banana

RE: Semi OT: NCAA Football '14
I've done the most popular/highest rated JMU rosters the last few seasons on NCAA Football, but I refuse to do it anymore until they make improvements to teambuilder... it's been the exact same the last 3 years. It takes many hours to get the roster/colors/stadium just right. I'm probably not buying NCAA Football this year, and only buying madden for the free online/phone league pass (then selling it once I use the code)

edit: if I get at least 10 or 15 people that really want me to do JMUs roster again, I'll do it

Ouch, ign.com gave NCAA 14 a 7.4/10. I guess even ole dirty's presence couldn't save this game. I think I'll be passing on this for the second straight year.
