The cover page HAD to include the hideous Orange Bowl uniform. Nice work, sports information.

Those uniforms kind of grew on me, they are pretty sharp. But I like putting that image up there because for many people that was their only time seeing him play, so you want to give the same look to people to remind them, this team played in a BCS bowl.

I would never get on NIU for trying to promote a player like this, but apart of me just wonders if it might have been better served starting after the Purdue game if NIU is able to be undefeated at that point. I just worry it puts some tough pressure on him and could be quite a deflation with a loss at Iowa. The campaign would be over anyway with a loss to Iowa whether it was officially started or not, but at least it would be less of a downer and personal pressure.

RE: NIU Launches Heisman Campaign for Lynch
If this helps to fill Huskie Stadium and it gets more people to pay attention to NIU, then I am all for it.

I am not going to get my hopes up for JL actually winning the Heisman just because of all the politics involved with the pro-BCS bias. Football is supposed to be a team sport anyway.

I would rather think about wins, the Championship, and bowl elligibility, as that is decided on the field, not the ballot box. Yes, bowl slection can be political, but win enough games, and you can be assured to go somewhere.

Good points Jon, I can understand trying to capitalize on this success while you have it. You are probably right.

Interesting point on the uniforms, but I think I would rather show people what the real team colors are. I mean, if it's a brand we want to showcase.

Those were the real team colors, just distributed differently. I am perfectly fine with just keeping with two uniform combinations. I do not think we need to copy CMU and have 20 or so different combinations.

I am also all for keeping the shiny black helmets, instead of going for these new matte finish helmets that are all the rage now.

Lots of national press today because of this! No reason to wait until after Purdue. Single game tickets should go on sale next week so this is good buzz before the holiday.

Yeah, it's all over the place. All the national college writers have tweeted about it, just about. Perfect timing for the release with nothing going on in the college football world today.

AIM Icons! What a blast from the 90's and early 2000's!

They were actually fairly respectful to his chances and his accomplishments. Good exposure right there, hopefully some High School kids saw that and now want to come check out NIU.
