The infamous sno-cone machine
OK, I have been out of town for 10 years, so I always see the references to the sno cone machine and Coach Cal.

Somebody give me the story?

This is an excerpt from Dan Wolken during that time...

The short version is that on that last summer, Calipari called Memphis and asked to have the snow-cone machine at Memphis delivered to Nashville where a Kentucky manager would pick it up and bring it to Lexington so they could use it at their summer camps. Memphis said no; and from what I understand there was some dispute about who actually "owned" the snowcone machine. It's just funny because the guy signed a $32 million contract at Kentucky and coaches at a school with unlimited resources for basketball. You'd think he could buy a $1,000 snow cone machine on his own dime. The story ended, from what I'm told, with someone from Memphis sending a personal check to someone at Kentucky for the value of a snow-cone machine.
