RE: Let's go down memory lane...
My favorite moments of past:

-Basketball has had many moments for me. The triple overtime win over Villanova on St. Patty's Day in '95. Beating UVA back in the '93 at Scope......I was upset when Oliver Purnell left our program I can tell you. Beating VCU in the CAA 2011 Championship with authority was a huge thing for me after the crap I listened to from so many VCU fans walking into the Big Brown Dump. That team may have been the best team that has ever graced the court for us. I had friends and people (not-ODU fans) at work tell me they watched the game on TV and were surprised that we were not a mid-range top 20 team. Other moments were......the Lady Monarchs winning the national championship in '85 and their photo ops with President Reagan at the Whitehouse. Dating myself....that is when I was living on campus. Beating those Gene Bartow UAB teams at scope in the 80’s where he was screaming at the crowd when they were taunting him (all in good fun). Watching Mark West (ODU Alum) play for all those years in the NBA......one of the longest careers of any NBA player. What a steady force he was.

My favorite moments of recent:

-One losing effort. Our first football game against W&M (and at home-second season of existence)......where we led the whole game until the last 4 minutes of the game. I was sitting with my wife and kept looking at the scoreboard saying "I can't believe we are beating the Tribe......and it’s the 4th quarter". I basically told her no matter what happened at that point...... the Monarchs football program had arrived.

-One winning effort. Our football game against JMU in Harrisonburg this last Fall '12. It was a cold and windy night and the lead went back and forth......and the Dukes wanted revenge for beating them our first time out (where we played them at home). Our defense held on a 4th and shortish play to seal the deal. Let me repeat that our defense held to clinch the win. (you can tell I am praying we build a “D” sometime soon). The win was savored by riding the shuttle bus back to the hotel with depressed JMU fans and with some that complimented our program to the point of saying we are going to be a serious powerhouse in the near future.

If you want to take a trip down the football memory lane, take a look at Thomas DeMarco's highlights. I think sometimes we forget just how good he was.

Speaking of Lady Monarchs and UVA. I remember a screen set by one of the Ladys as Ticha dibbled by. Knocked the UVA player out cold. Epic. 97-98 season.

Mery Andrade cleaned that UVA girl out. That was one of the better night I have ever spent in the Richmond Coliseum.

THANK YOU! I can't believe I couldn't remember Mery's name.

Thanks for the clip OA. TD was a lot of fun to watch. That last second pass for the win in Jacksonville was an epic highlight.

Mery Andrade. Part of that magnificent trio that led ODU to that memorable 1997 Final Four Run. All three had careers in the WNBA.
